Neck­ties and dol­lar bills as sym­bols for pow­er and mon­ey (the gods we trust in?). How­ev­er, both items are cut up and alien­at­ed, thus ques­tion­ing the mean­ing and im­pact of mon­ey and pow­er in our lives.
I no­ticed with as­ton­ish­ment that the phrase "In God We Trust" is print­ed on every US ban­knote. A sur­pris­ing blend­ing of sec­u­lar and re­li­gious mat­ters.
