The first ideas for the se­ries Per­mu­ta­tions were born af­ter hav­ing seen an ex­hi­bi­tion of Brice Mar­den show­ing less fa­mil­iar and typ­i­cal paint­ings. The ques­tion arose: what ef­fect could be ob­tained on­ly through seams; i.e. is it pos­si­ble to ob­tain vis­i­ble lines and squares?
Based on the three el­e­men­tary col­ors yel­low, red, blue and the geo­met­ri­cal el­e­ments rec­tan­gle and square, var­i­ous com­bi­na­tions of in­creas­ing com­plex­i­ty are de­vel­oped.
