AGO­TA'S CHIL­DRENThe nov­el tril­o­gy "The Note­book" by Ago­ta Kristof tells in a sober, no-frills style the life and every­day ex­pe­ri­ences of twins that have been sent to live with an unlov­ing and hag­gard grand­moth­er in the coun­try­side be­cause of the war. The sto­ry is fas­ci­nat­ing but al­so op­pres­sive and threat­en­ing and takes an un­ex­pect­ed and per­plex­ing turn in the third nov­el. The quilt was made for the com­pe­ti­tion "Stoffträume" (in­spired by the ci­ta­tion "We are such stuff as dreams are made on") and is an homage to this fas­ci­nat­ing work with its com­plex at­mos­phere.
