ONE WAYA child's chalk draw­ing on a pave­ment was the in­spi­ra­tion for this work. I im­me­di­ate­ly saw what I want­ed the piece to look like and what ma­te­ri­als I want­ed to use. In the end not every­thing re­mained the way I saw it in this first "flash", but ba­si­cal­ly the piece is the re­sult of this in­stant in­spi­ra­tion. I was at­tract­ed by this path drawn on the ground and thus the work is al­so a re­flec­tion on the ways we choose to go in our life and how our de­ci­sions are al­ways on­ly one way to go among many pos­si­bil­i­ties. We can al­ways de­cide to go an­oth­er way and we will nev­er know where the way we did not go would have tak­en us.
