Dur­ing my walks, I pho­tographed 100 shad­ows of peo­ple. In a mul­ti-step process, I then cap­tured the shad­ows on fab­ric. I re­al­ly want­ed to use a tech­nique (sun­print­ing) in which the sun, with­out which there would be no shad­ows, plays a role.

Here, through the dis­tor­tion of the shad­ows and the use of un­ex­pect­ed col­ors, ap­pear­ances by which we of­ten judge "peo­ple" be­come com­plete­ly ir­rel­e­vant, and yet each of the shad­owy fig­ures has its own ex­pres­sive pow­er.
