Art history knows "objets trouvés" (found objects) - this piece is made of "mots trouvés" (found words). During a whole year, on my daily walks, I collected one word per day which I found on displays, advertising posters, sign posts or delivery-vans. The word attracted my attention because it resonated with something I was reflecting on during my walk, reminded me of a particular occurrence, triggered associations or simply because of its typography or a particular spelling. In allusion to embroidered pictures or pillows which are also used to record more or less meaningful thoughts, I cross-stitched the words and sewed them together in chronological order into a gigantic absurd poem, which sometimes, by chance, nevertheless makes sense.
